The second half of 思考回路 • Shikoukairo: Patterns of Thought features Chicago-based artists Kioto Aoki, Kiyomi Negi-Tran and Hekiun Oda. Kiyomi and Kioto present their works created during a their three week residency in the Tokachi region in June 2019, alongside Japanese artists Daisaku Ueno (Sapporo) and Masanori Umeda (Obihiro) and Hiroshi Mehata (Tokyo). Framing the conversation around what it means to be defined as a Japanese artist, particularly outside of Japan, the exhibition focused on artists who deal with a vernacular of aesthetics rather than a vernacular of didactics.
